If you’re looking for a fun, unique, and SUPER popular craft show item, let me introduce you to one of my top sellers…Blind Date with a Book!
These were a HUGE hit at my last craft show, and honestly—I can see why! They’re cute, giftable, and just a little bit mysterious (which makes them so fun!).

Missed the live? No worries—I’ve got you covered!
Be sure to watch the replay below where I walk you through exactly how I create my Blind Date with a Book step-by-step.
And don’t forget…You’ll find links to all of the products I used in the video description!
My Favorite Tips for Creating Them
Save Your Ribbon!
Don’t toss those leftover pieces of shiny Stampin’ Up! ribbon!
They are PERFECT for:
- Tying on your tags
- Adding a little sparkle
- Making your packaging feel extra special
Pro tip: Metallic or shimmer ribbon really helps your packages stand out on your table!
Use Mini Glue Dots for Easy Assembly
Mini Glue Dots are your best friend for these!
Use them to:
- Secure candy in place
- Attach stickers or embellishments
- Keep everything neat and tidy
They’re quick, mess-free, and hold everything exactly where you want it.
Add Stickers & Ephemera
This is where the magic happens!
Decorate your wrapped books with:
- Book-themed stickers
- Seasonal embellishments
- Cute ephemera pieces
The more eye-catching your packaging is, the more likely someone will pick it up!
Pricing That Works
Here’s what worked really well for me at my last show:
- Blind Date with a Book: $12
- Storytime Surprise: $9
These price points felt like a great balance—affordable for shoppers, while still making a profit.
Why They’re a Must-Make
Not only were these one of my top sellers, but they also:
- Appeal to all ages
- Make PERFECT gifts
- Are easy to customize for any season
Seriously… these FLY off the table!
Give It a Try!
If you’re prepping for an upcoming craft show (or just want a fun gift idea), I highly recommend giving these a try.
I hope this inspires you to create your own version of Blind Date with a Book—and maybe even discover your next bestseller too!
If you make these, I’d LOVE to hear how they sell for you!

I love this idea! I can see myself making these for friends and family.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, I’m sure your friends and family will love them!
Loved these. I am donating a huge supply of books to the library book sale. I think I may go through them again to see if any will be fun to use. I might make a few for friends for Christmas. I haven’t done a craft show before and not sure how they would go here. I have a couple scrapbooking fun mysteries although not in perfect condition but I have a demo friend who will love them or at least the idea. We already trade tea bags with cards. If and when I make one I will send you a photo..
I would love to see a picture of your creation!
Thank you so much! I have seen these and always wanted to buy one to take apart and figure how to do it. Now I know – Thanks loved the video and just made one . Enjoy your spring break and Happy Birthday to you!!
I’m so happy it was helpful. They are so much fun to put together. I made one for my nephew’s birthday and he loved it! I had a wonderful birthday and Ethan’s spring break went way too fast, haha.
