Today I have a floral Thinking of You card that I made using the Beautiful Day Cling Stamp Set and the Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ DSP. The big flower from the Beautiful Day stamp set pairs so well with the flowers in the Best Dressed DSP, the combination is amazing!
The DSP is actually from the same sheet of Best Dressed DSP. The top polka dotted portion is one side of the paper and the bottom floral portion is the other side of the same sheet of paper.
Today’s sketch is from PageMaps. I remember about 10 years ago when I was into scrapbooking I used to be obsessed with PageMaps. I was always referring to their sketches when trying to come up with layouts for scrapbooks. So for today’s inspiration I decided to go back to the PageMaps website and get some inspiration, but this time from their CardMaps section.
PageMaps puts out new sketches each quarter. The card sketch below, which is my inspiration for today’s card, is from the January 2020 quarterly update. You can find more of the January 2020 card sketches HERE.
Card Recipe:
(Don’t forget to see the complete product showcase at the bottom of this post)
Start by cutting your paper:
- Whisper White Card Base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- Best Dressed DSP (2 pieces from the same sheet of DSP): 2″ x 5 1/4″
Fold your Whisper White Card Base in half and burnish with your bone folder.
Use your Snail Adhesive and adhere the DSP to the card base as shown.
Stamp the large flower from the Beautiful Day Cling Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.
Color the flower with the Daffodil Delight Darkl Stampin’ Blends Marker by coloring a large circle in the center of the flower. Next take your Daffodil Delight Light Stampin’ Blends Marker and color over the dark portion to blend it with the lighter color and color in the rest of the flower. Color the leaf with your Granny Apple Green Dark Stampin Blends Marker and then fussy cut the flower with your Paper Snips.
Using a die-cutting machine, cut out the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies in Whisper White Cardstock.
Adhere the flower to the stitched circle with Snail Adhesive.
Take scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock and put it in your Stamparatus and secure with your magnet. Position your sentiment stamp over the paper and then put the Stamparatus plate onto the stamp to secure it in place. Color the “thinking of you” portion of the stamp with an Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker and then stamp.
Trim as necessary and make the flag by punching the right side using the Banner Triple Punch.
Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to your flower piece and adhere to your card. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to your sentiment and tuck the left side under the flower circle as shown and you’re done!
