Today I have a masculine card to share with you using the Snow Front Photopolymer Stamp Set. I made this card for my dad’s birthday in a few weeks. We used to have a cabin in Northern Michigan that sat up on a big hill overlooking a lake and I tried to replicate that in this card. I tried to imagine if I was on the other side of the lake looking toward the cabin and painted the scene from there.
The sentiment from this card is from the Timeless Tropical Cling Stamp Set. I thought the sentiment just fit perfectly with the feel of this card. Masculine cards are so hard to come up with, I know my dad is going to love this one!
Here’s a different angle of the card…
Card Recipe:
(Don’t forget to see the complete product showcase at the bottom of this post)
Cut your paper. You will need a Crumb Cake Card Base cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and a Garden Green Layer cut at 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.
Fold your Crumb Cake Card Base in half and burnish with your bone folder. Set aside.
Cut a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper to 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″.
To make your scene, first stamp the bottom hill and deer in Crumb Cake and then your trees in Garden Green. Next stamp your lake in Pool Party at the bottom. Finally, stamp your upper hill in Crumb Cake, then your trees in Garden Green then your cabin in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Go over the images using your Aqua Pen. This will transform the images from the pixel look that they have to a more smooth, rich image.
Once your images are dry, take your Sponge Brayer and sponge the sky using Pretty Peacock ink and then sponge the hill using a light coating of Crumb Cake ink.
Stamp your sentiment in Garden Green ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out using your Stitched Rectangle Dies.
To assemble the card, adhere the Garden Green layer to your Crumb Cake card base using Snail Adhesive. Next, adhere the watercolor layer to your Garden Green layer using Tear & Tape.
Trim a small piece of the Old Olive/Pretty Peacock 3/8″ Reversible Ribbon and adhere to your card as shown using Tear & Tape.
Layer the sentiment over the ribbon using a few Stampin’ Dimensionals and your card is done!
