Today I have two Spring birthday cards using one of Mary Fish’s Stampin’ Pretty Sketches. I am always trying to think of new birthday card ideas, I try to keep them fresh and challenge myself to make a different birthday card each month to send to friends and family. Making a new birthday card each month is really fun but sometimes I have a hard time figuring out the layout. This is where card sketches come in very handy! Mary Fish (my Stampin’ Up! mentor and upline) has started posting new card sketches on her blog so I decided to use her most recent card sketch as the basis for my Spring birthday card.
You can see the sketch below. (Click on the image below to be taken to Mary’s Sketchbook.)
I really enjoyed using this sketch because it lets the Designer Series Paper shine. You take a beautiful pack of Designer Series Paper, in this case I used the Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ DSP, and you can create a quick and beautiful card with ease. The paper does all of the work.
For the first version of this card I used Mint Macaron Ink for the sentiment, which is from the Bonanza Buddies Photopolymer Stamp Set, and combined it with the Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. This card is soft and feminine. Here’s a close-up of this version…
For the second version of this card I used Blackberry Bliss Ink for the sentiment and combined it with the Purple Posy 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon. This card is feminine but more vibrant. Here’s a close-up of this version…
How Do You Make It? See Mary’s original post HERE to see her instructions to make this card. Make sure to see the showcase below for the products used to create these cards. You can click on any of the images to see additional details and shop them in my online store.
These cards are very quick and easy to put together and I hope you are inspired to try this sketch for yourself.
Happy Stamping!
