Double Take – Pleased As Punch Thinking of You Card

My son and I recently decided to pick 2 family members each day to send happy mail to. His first choice was to send letters to his sisters! How cute is that?! One of my daughters lives here in Florida, not far from us actually, and the other one lives up in Maryland. With everyone staying home and trying to do the responsible thing, I know it’s hard not to get cabin fever and we thought it would be nice to get something fun in the mail.

I decided to make them each a card as well. I wanted something quick and easy and I love the Pleased As Punch DSP, so I knew that I wanted to incorporate it somehow. The hearts are just the sweetest and make the perfect background!

Card Recipe:
(Don’t forget to see the complete product showcase at the bottom of this post)

For the first card I used Coastal Cabana Cardstock as the card base cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.

Next you cut the Please As Punch DSP in the Heart shapes down as shown in the photo. Adhere this onto the card base using some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp your sentiment from the Beautiful Day Cling Stamp Set in Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock.

Trim down as necessary and make a flag on one end using the Banner Triple Punch.

Adhere your sentiment to the card with your Snail Adhesive lining the left side up with the left side of the Please As Punch DSP layer.

Take some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine and tie a bow. Adhere as shown using Mini Glue Dots.

Adhere 2 Pumpkin Pie rhinestones (1 medium and 1 large) from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels and you’re done!

The second card is made the same way but I used Highland Heather Cardstock for the card base and Smoky Slate for the sentiment.

Technique Alert! To make the rhinestones the Flirty Flamingo color to match the card, all you have to do is color the Rhinestone Basic Jewels using the Flirty Flamingo Dark Stampin’ Blends and now you have rhinestones that color coordinate!

And here is my son and his cards, isn’t he sweet?!

I hope you have enjoyed these cards. I have seen so many people doing so many positive things during this public health crisis. It really gives me goosebumps to see people banding together when we need to, I love it! I hope this inspires you. Stay safe and be sure to check back often for more exciting project ideas!
Happy Stamping!
Jen
