School Picture Cards Using Harvest Hellos Bundle

My son’s school pictures came home this week and I must say, they are adorable (and a little funny)! He is in third grade this year and was in the middle of losing his two front teeth, so his smile, while handsome as always, was a bit funny looking. Haha.

To send his school picture to my family members, I wanted to create a card using Stampin’ Up! products that would make it look sort of like a school picture frame. The background lined paper is from the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper (DSP). I thought the stripes were perfect here, don’t they remind you of the lines on school paper? The Harvest Hellos Bundle was the perfect tool to pull this card together. That apple is so cute and I thought the sentiment was perfect for this card. I love this set so much! This is the best school themed set Stampin’ Up! has come out with yet (in my opinion).

BUNDLE AND SAVE! Did you know that when you buy a stamp set and its coordinate punch you save 10%?! That’s an awesome deal! You can get the Harvest Hellos Bundle used for this card and save 10% by clicking HERE.

Back to this cute card here’s how you put it together.

Start with a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock. Fold in half and burnish with your Bone Folder.

Cut a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of the lined Come to Gather DSP and adhere it to the Whisper White Cardstock card front using your Snail Adhesive.

To make the polaroid style frame for the picture, cut a 3 1/4″ 4 1/4″ piece of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and adhere it to your card front as shown in the picture. Be sure to put your Snail Adhesive right along the left and right edge so that when you cut your frame middle your frame will still stick to the card base.

To cut your frame, use the largest square die from the Stitched Shapes Dies and position it so that it is centered more toward the frame top and sides and leaves a bit of an edge to give that polaroid frame effect. You will need to cut, removed the Pear Pizzazz Cardstock layer that has been cut, reposition your die, and then cut again so that you cut completely through the card layers.

Now that you have your base assembled, make your apple. Use your Stamparatus to position the apple stamp with the center removed and insert the You Make Me Smile sentiment in the middle of the apple. Ink all of the apple pieces using your Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad and cut them with the Apple Builder Punch. Glue the pieces together using your Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Once the apple is dry, adhere 2 Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the apple and attach it to the card as shown.

For the school picture, I just centered it behind the frame and used a small piece of scotch tape to keep it in place.

Your card is now complete! I hope you all have enjoyed this card and love it as much as I do!
